Understanding Your Requirements
What Your Court Order May Require
DUI diversion and sobriety programs typically require one or both of the following alcohol tests. Your court order or program administrator will specify which is required โ€” if you're unsure, bring your paperwork and our team will help you identify the right test.
๐Ÿซ

Breath Alcohol Test (BAT)

Measures your current Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) right now. Results are immediate. Required for post-incident testing and programs monitoring current impairment.

๐Ÿงช

EtG Urine Alcohol Test

Detects alcohol use up to 80 hours after consumption โ€” even when you're not currently impaired. Required for ongoing sobriety monitoring programs and court compliance.

Not sure which test you need? Call us at (844) 984-5443 or bring your court order to our location. Our team will review your paperwork and make sure you receive the correct test for your program requirements.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral or court order to get tested? +
No referral is required for walk-in testing. However, if your test is court-ordered, bring your paperwork so we can ensure results are reported to the correct parties โ€” your program coordinator, attorney, or supervising officer.
How long does EtG testing detect alcohol? +
EtG testing can detect alcohol metabolites in urine for up to 80 hours after consumption โ€” typically 3โ€“4 days for moderate drinking. Heavy or prolonged drinking may be detectable slightly longer. This makes EtG the standard for court-ordered sobriety monitoring programs.
Will my results be shared with my employer? +
Results are only released to the authorized parties specified in your court order or consent form โ€” typically your program coordinator, probation officer, or attorney. LHID Labs is fully HIPAA-compliant and will never release results to unauthorized parties including your employer, unless specifically authorized by you in writing.
Can I schedule the same day I need to be tested? +
Yes. Same-day appointments are available and walk-ins are welcome. We recommend calling ahead at (844) 984-5443 during peak hours to minimize your wait time, but you are always welcome to come in without an appointment.
What if I don't know which test my program requires? +
Bring your court order, program letter, or attorney referral to our location and our team will review it with you. If you don't have paperwork, call your program coordinator or attorney before coming in. You can also call us at (844) 984-5443 and we'll do our best to help you identify the correct test.
Are results court-admissible? +
Yes. All LHID Labs tests are performed with full chain of custody protocols using SAMHSA-certified laboratory partners. Every result includes documentation formatted for court submission. Non-negative results are reviewed by a licensed Medical Review Officer (MRO) before being reported.
